Fagan's book is the most comprehensive and widely used guide for sailing CentralĪnd Southern CA. Time needed for each leg (if averaging 4.7 nautical miles/hr)Ĭourse, sailors rarely use a completely direct path from one point toĪnother (either due to some tacking or due to unintentional meanderings) and so, it would be wise to plan for 1-2 hours on top of theseĪpproaching Smuggler's Cover after the crossing from Two Harbors.Īnd, before you go, you should have at least one cruising guide on board. For most folks with a sailboat near 30 feet, just under 5 nautical miles/hr is probably about right.Īt that average speed, the approximate time it would take to get from A to B is: This average speed accounts for some sailing in good to moderate winds and then the engine turned on at moderately high RPM when the wind goes light. My husband and I could afford the rent increase but they apartment was just not worth it.You can either make the whole trip (San Diego to smuggler's cove in one step), or you can spend the first night on Catalina Island (this was our route). There was a high rent increase and they try and sweeten the deal by saying we will put new appliances if you stay, meaning you are paying for the new appliances. They stayed with a lot of our deposit even though we did not have a pet and my husband and I were barely home to cause a mess/damage. At the end of our lease I took the time to clean the apartment and I was told that it did not matter they were still going to charge us for cleaning. The maintenance team will even admit to this. The building was poorly maintained and you pay a lot of money to be surrounded by homeless people sleeping outside. The staff (excluding the rental agents) are AMAZING but not enough to make me want to stay there another year. The reason for the one star is because Safeway is across the street and I enjoyed being able to better plan my meals. I lived at this apartment complex for a year and I would give it no stars.
